Taeyeon is returning to weekly television! The star soloist will be joining the cast of popular variety show Amazing Saturday – DoReMi Market, and SHINee‘s Key will be returning to the show with her.

Amazing Saturday – DoReMi Market is one of tvN‘s most popular shows, setting a new viewership record earlier this month when actors Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo Ah, and Kim Bum appeared as guest stars. First airing in 2018, Amazing Saturday is a game show where guests compete to win delicious food from markets across South Korea. Each episode is split into three games, including two “Song Dictation” rounds where guests have to guess lyrics.

Taeyeon appeared on Amazing Saturday – DoReMi Market as a guest star in March this year, joining the show’s “100 Days Party” episodes.

She also guest starred with her fellow group member Sunny in August 2019 for the “My Girls’ Generation” episode. After creating plenty of laughs on the show and skyrocketing ratings, it’s no surprise tvN wanted Taeyeon back for a more permanent role.

SHINee’s Key will be joining her! Key left the show in March 2019 following his military enlistment. After his discharge a few weeks ago, he’s now set to return to his original position.


EXO’s Kai and SHINee’s Taemin were guests on this episode. As the cast deliberated about who would take the scribe position after Girl’s Day’s Hyeri’s departure, Kai recommended Taeyeon for the role. “It’s a good role for her to adjust to the show,” he explained. Shin Dong Yup said, “When Kai talks, you feel like you have to listen.” Kai quipped, “That’s because I always say the right thing.”
